Irrigation system providing even lawn watering in Fort Collins
Start Strong This Spring

Sprinkler Activations

A great lawn starts with a well-prepared irrigation system. Our spring sprinkler activations help make sure your system is turned on safely and ready to deliver consistent water coverage for the growing season.

We check for obvious freeze damage, broken heads, leaks, and other visible issues so small problems can be identified before they turn into bigger ones.

Activation Season:

  • Typically offered April 27 through May 31

  • Activations may still be scheduled after May 31 when needed, but most spring activation demand is finished by June 1

Frequently Asked Questions About Sprinkler Service activation

Sprinkler Activation FAQ

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about our activations and sprinkler-specific services.

When do sprinkler activations start?

Our sprinkler activation season typically begins April 27 and runs through May 31.

How much does a sprinkler activation cost?

Pricing is based on the number of irrigation zones on the property.

  • 1 to 4 zones: $139
  • 5 to 8 zones: $149
  • 9 to 12 zones: $159
  • 13 to 16 zones: $229
  • 17 to 20 zones: $289
  • 21+ zones: Custom pricing required
Do you offer exact appointment times?

No. Activations are scheduled by route and service area. We provide the best arrival window we reasonably can, but timing can shift based on routing and earlier service visits.

What if my sprinkler system needs repairs during the activation?

If we notice issues while starting up the system, we’ll let you know what we found and what we recommend. The activation service itself focuses on turning the system on and verifying basic operation.

In some cases, very quick diagnostics may be possible during the visit. However, repairs, parts replacement, or more involved troubleshooting are not included in the activation price and may require a separate service visit.

Any additional work is performed only with client approval and billed separately for time, labor, and parts as applicable.

Do I need to be home for sprinkler service?

For sprinkler activations and blowouts, yes, in most cases someone does need to be home because we usually need access to the basement or crawlspace to reach the irrigation shutoff or related components.

This is true for most properties unless the irrigation system runs on a non-potable water source, in which case access to the sprinkler controller is usually the main access needed.

For other irrigation service visits, being home is not always required, but we do need access to the sprinkler controller, valves, backflow device if applicable, sprinkler supply valve, and water supply as needed.

What is the Proactive Irrigation Plan?

The Proactive Irrigation Plan includes spring activation, two mid-season checkups, fall blowout / winterization, priority scheduling, 10% off repair labor, and 10% off retail price for parts.

Important Service Details

If additional issues are found during an activation or blowout, some follow-up work may need to be scheduled for a separate visit depending on the scope of the issue, parts availability, and the day’s route schedule.

Any follow-up repair visits are billed separately based on time, labor, and parts as applicable.

  • Irrigation services are scheduled by route and service area
  • Exact appointment times are not guaranteed
  • Clients must provide access to the controller, valves, backflow device if applicable, and water supply
  • Gates must be unlocked and pets secured before service
  • Hidden issues may sometimes be discovered once the system is running
